Text | Bellows Festival. Bonfire stakes dedicated by believers throughout the country are burnt as the central rite of a bonfire festival (hotakematsuri) celebrated on November 8 at Fushimi Inari Shrine (Inari Taisha) in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Called the "Bellows Festival" by blacksmith and casters who believe in the Inari cult. According to legend, the festival commemorates the mysterious descent from a sky of a foot bellows, by having bellows purified and celebrated. ws are sanctified and celebrated.
