Text [Yomotsuchi morihito](Nihongi)
"Guardian of the way to the underworld." Appearing in an "alternate writing" transmitted by Nihongi, a kami that acted as go-between when Izanagi fled from the underworld of Yomi and declared himself divorced from Izanami at the Even Pass of Yomi. The kami is usually identified with the Yomido ni sayarimasu ōkami (also called Chigaeshi no ōkami) appearing in an earlier "alternate writing" also transmitted by Nihongi.
