Title
Shinten'yoku, kōten'yoku | 神典翼・皇典翼
Text A collection of basic research material on Nihon shoki and Kojiki collected by Yano Harumichi. Shinten yoku refers to the first book of Kojiki (The Age of the Kami), and Kōten yoku refers to Nihon shoki, from book three onward (the volumes dealing with the reigns of the mortal rulers) this text contains extracts from Nihon shoki, Kojiki, Fudoki, Kogo shūi, Engishiki and other works that augment or give reference to the actual texts. After Harumichi began writing this work during the Kaei era (1848-1854) he continued work until his death, but he died before he could finish it. The draft manuscript and a revised version are in the possession of Isono Shrine of Saijō City in Ehime Prefecture (the text of disciple Kinoto Katsutaka), as well as in the possession of the Yano family in Ōzu City. The entire Shinten yoku and part of Kōten yoku are contained in volume eighteen of Kokumin seishin bunka bunken (published by Kokumin seishin bunka kenkyūjo, 1938-1942). Shinten yoku was also published as a facsimile by Daiichi Shobō in 1986.
